Re: Can't run Audicity 1.2.5 and 1.3.3-beta
<<<I can't run Audicity 1.2.5 and 1.3.3-beta under Leopard with the latest patches installed. I get crash at the beginning. I've never tried to run it before. Crash dump can be found below.>>> What kind of machine is this? I can't tell from the listing. A few more words would be good. It sounds like...

Re: Importing AIFF to iTunes?
I never said I used an AIFF file because I don't. I do most of my capture and production work in 48000/16 bit (video standard) instead of 44100 and export as a Windows WAV file. Open up iTunes and File > Import. It slides right in. Still, what you did should have worked. You did use iTunes Import, r...

Re: distortion during needledrop...Leopard issue?
Has anyone else contacted them and what have been the results? The result was I got invited to help write the instruction book for Audacity version 1.4 which they are trying really hard to push out the door to replace versions 1.2 and 1.3. In general, if we can't help you here in the forum, that's t...

Re: No right channel input
<<<that's stupid.>>> Maybe. Remember what you bought. This is not the turntable investment that I got when I bought my Empire with the Shure SME arm, Philips cartridge, and Hafler preamp. You bought a turntable you're planning on throwing away after your last record is transferred. I bet it was unde...

Re: trying to record from keyboard
I think you're making this way too complicated. The keyboard has a headphone jack, right? Both of mine do. Make sure your PC has a Line In connection. Please tell me it's not a laptop. Connect the two together. Launch Audacity and record the computer Line-In. I did this exact exercise last week. Let...

Re: distortion during needledrop...Leopard issue?
Given the problems this turntable has caused, I would recommend transferring albums analog. Close Audacity. Shut down your Mac. Unplug the USB cable and leave it disconnected. Restart your Mac. The ION turntable has the ability to push RIAA corrected analog audio from its RCA connectors. Select, I t...

Re: Audio won't play
<<<we have worked on this in 1.3.4>>> Good to know. This is me writing that down. [print screen] I don't run any of the 1.3.x software, so this is the first news. I can't wait for 1.4.x. I am going to be weapons grade lost. That may be a good time to retire to Maui. Or maybe Schenectady. Tough choic...

Re: opening recorded files
Did you save the performance projects with different names? Guitar1.aup, guitar2.aup, guitar3.aup? If you did, you just need to match up the AUP file with the right _data folder. If there is only one _data folder, you're probably dead. You may also be dead if you kept saving the project AUP file wit...

Re: Bad sound quality.
It would be good to know hard numbers. Which version did you leave and which version are you on now? Which Windows do you have? Did you know you can install version 1.2.x and 1.3.x on the same machine?

Re: Problems recording
The Windows Sound Panels have been the subject of much digital ink and many explanations and web pages. http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#Using_the_Control_Panel If you're desperate enough and you just can't figure it out, I use a license of Total Recorder on my PC to...
