Re: File Changes Will Not Save On Export
I gotta think about the effect being missing. As above, it's a really bad idea to do production with only one filename. Nobody understands Projects. A typical Project is the original capture files or clips and a laundry list of what to do with them. There is no "Final" output file. As you ...

Re: **** MP3 FILES!
Audacity will load a lot of files it won't play. If it does hit a really compressed, unknown audio file, it plays as if it were uncompressed. So your two hour AAC file might play in fifteen seconds flat. Just the thing for your fast-paced, hectic lifestyle.

Re: **** MP3 FILES!
You can have 1.2.x and 1.3.x on your machine at the same time. Don't try to run them both at the same time. Beta Software in this case in misleading as this is the final version before 1.4.x, a stable release which will be along shortly. Typically, if the lame program fails, it's because it won't lo...

You might also convert your timeline to dB. Black arrow on the left > Waveform dB. Then grab the bottom of the timeline and pull down to get good accuracy. You get more numbers as the timeline gets taller. Percentages work really well in video, but not so much in audio. Show audio should peak in the...

<<<RCA plugs to connect to your PC >>>
One correction. This only works with Macs and Deskside PCs. Not PC Laptops. Those people need to get their money back.

Re: Auto Logout Timer?
I know how that works. If you have to worry about slow connections while you're designing programs, you could retire writing simple source code. However, you do need to test it in real world before you release it. High Speed Connections are addictive according to the DSM, the Diagnostic and Statisti...

It's always a little embarrassing when somebody comes up with an actual editing question...and I'm not that good an editor. My thing is Input and Output. I'm killer with those questions. Select all of the second timeline and paste it onto the end of timeline one. Repeat as needed. You're right, ther...

Re: No audio playthrough during recording
<<<What's the trick?>>> Apparently, from the course of the forum threads, stop using USB. The USB interface(s) cause no end of oddball sound problems on a normally well-behaved Mac. The forums are full of people who bought USB turntables and suddenly their warm, friendly Mac turned into a spit-drool...

Re: noise reduction settings 1.26 vs 1.33
Whatever it is, it's going to be better. Noise reduction control in 1.2.x was almost entirely unsatisfactory and if you needed more control, you were advised to go to the Beta software. I don't know that there is a 1:1 relationship at any one of the settings. Everybody ran the old tool at minimum be...
