Re: Recording problems - First time user
Here it is. Oddly enough, this user posted a Windows program in the Mac forum. Maybe he's off his meds. Who knows? This one isn't free, but he claimed multiple vinyl albums transferred with no troubles. "...EZ Audio Converter works fine - I've done several full album sides with no distortion sh...

Re: Can Audacity be used with Windows 98???
Given the enormous number of people having speed and quality problems with much larger computers, I don't think USB is the way to go. However, assuming your computer is a Deskside and your turntable is an ION, you can probably do a fairly respectable job transferring the songs analog. Stereo RCA to ...

<<<recorded file (saved as an aup file >>> Just a quick note about that. I know the impression is that you saved your show as an AUP file, but reality is a little different. AUP isn't a sound file. It's a programming language that tells Audacity how to produce your show from the cloud of other files...

It's not that you always run into troubles or create damage, but there is an easy way, and then there is everything else. It didn't take many Mac files called Todays Layoff From Avid 2.wav round trip to the Land of Linux to reveal that a pain in the butt that was--not going up to the Linux machines,...

Re: crashed during noise removal
Hard drive space. When you start doing heavy effects on a large file, Audacity suddenly has to come up with a ton of hard drive space to perform the analysis and work--and save the UNDO files.
How full are your drives, how many, and which one have you told Audacity to use for housekeeping?

Re: Trouble Opening Files. Please Help!
If you open up your project (AUP) file in a text editor, the first couple of lines of computer code may give you an idea of where the project used to be.

Re: Trouble Opening Files. Please Help!
Put them back.
The Audacity project file is a programming list (not a music file) of what to do with a cloud of other files in a particular hard drive directory structure. If you don't move everything in exactly the right way, the project turns to garbage.
