It doesn't exist?
Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input.
Assuming that pathway still exists in Leopard.
Oh, wait. I remember now. iMic is that little cheap USB device that has problems. Mine is out in the garage which is the best place for it.

Re: Time limit on Audacity audio imports??
<<<Garage Band supposedly doesn't like anything beyond 16 bits, yet recognizes the file correctly.>>>
That may be, but Audacity hates 24 bit files. Apparently, the conflict only happens on the Mac version.

<<<I am again at a loss.>>> But not enough of a loss to follow instructions. Go back one message and do that QuickTime thing I asked you to. It's important to know what the Mac thinks about your sound files. In addition, download the piano trill from here... http://www.kozco.com/tech/soundtests.html...

Re: Audacity/Peak and USBPre
You may be stuck. Audacity hates 24-bit files for some unknown reason. Audacity will explode into little brightly colored fragments every time. It's perfectly happy with 32-bit floating tho.

Re: Error Message When Export .wav to .mp3 (wav from PhoneVa
There may be multiple contributers. Download the piano trill from here: http://www.kozco.com/tech/soundtests.html ...load it into QuickTime, Press Apple-I (info) and read what it says. Now open up one of your PhoneValet files, open in QuickTime, etc. and read what that says. How different are they? ...

Re: Exporting to iTunes
If you open up one of the original music files in QuickTime and Press Apple-I for INFO, what does it say? It does play when you do that, right? If the files are in 24-bit audio, you need to know that 24-bit drives Audacity nuts for some reason. It's also good to know that WAV files, not AIFF, import...

Too Simple!! [email protected]#$%^
I'm about ready to throw something. If the forum software thinks a search term is "Too Simple," it just throws its little hands up and quits instead of giving me the top hits. Sometimes, I don't remember any more than simple search terms. I'll decide if they're too simple, thanks. I'm all ...

Re: Audacity Deleting EVERYTHING!
While this kind of thing can happen when there is computer damage of some sort, it's much more likely that you moved something. When you completed your performance capture, did you save your project file and then move it to a more convenient folder? Projects aren't simple sound files. You have to &q...

Re: marking in and out points???
No "I" and "O" I've ever found. Audio editors tend not to have those--or believe they don't need them. Video editors know how insanely handy they can be. If you're deleting a selection in the middle of a performance, you can delete after the in point and before the out point. The...
