If you start having unexplained high distortion and noise, the USB service may be causing trouble. Far better to transfer your work the analog method which is a snap on a Mac.

Re: Audacity/Peak and USBPre
The 24-bit thing may only apply to the Mac version. I don't remember either of the two other platforms having trouble.
I have Cool Edit, too. Love it.
You are talking about cross platform production, right? You're posting on the Mac forum.

Re: Exporting to iTunes
<<<I did follow it as a test and and it also has worked. >>> So what was the difference? If the download clip worked that means your install, the machine, and all the add-ons worked correctly. That means there was something wrong with your production clips or the way you were processing them. Audaci...

<<<BTW, if I set Audacity to 32-bit and record via the 24-bit USBPre, I'm padding with zero's, right? Any major disadvantage, or advantage to this?>>> You may not get a good recording. Re: Sound Problems
It sounds to me like you're getting phase cancellation. Can you post another quick clip where you leave the show in stereo? That clip is in mono. Did you set Audacity to stereo when you installed it? Audacity is in mono after its First Birthday. If you're on Windows, you can tell Windows to record t...

<<<Sorry to bring such a simple question,>>> It's not simple. I'm trying to cast what there is left of my mind back to earlier problems like this. Are you in 1.2.4? Re: Why does Audacity clip waveforms when they are exported?
<<<I edit music from LP disks>>> But not capture the music from LP disks? No USB turntable? That's moderately important. <<<Audacity 1.2.4 >>> I used Audacity 1.2.4 forever on some relatively major projects and it worked OK, but I think that's the one with the memory leak.
