Re: Preferences set to Stereo but still recording in Mono

<<<any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong.>>> What may be wrong is you're using a USB turntable. No shortage of complaints about those. This particular problem may be traceable to the headshell connection. Did you have to screw the cartridge and needle assembly onto the tonearm before you p...

Re: How do I create a seamless loop of audio?

<<<I hope someone can help me.>>> Certainly. No trouble at all. Since all actual looping methods create some sort of disturbance at the loop point (sometimes changing with the humidity) the solution is to avoid looping. Create a musical piece of a half-hour or so with several copies of that one clip...

Re: How to achieve an effect

<<<rythmic silece>>> Rhythmic....what? I got the :30 from iTunes. I hear a highly synthesized drum track with filtered voices drifting in and out. Processed violins. There is one segment of vocal where the singer is singing in time with the music. I guess that could be done in post with sloppy setti...

Re: Echo in Audacity

You can't take echoes out. You have to not put them in in the first place.

On Windows machines, this is almost always caused by having too many things turned on in the Windows Sound Control Panel.

Re: error message

That's.........a good one. Restart your machine, launch audacity cold (no project). Tell it to record something live or generate a simple tone or download the piano trill from here: http://www.kozco.com/tech/soundtests.html ..and save a new project. This is a test so don't go much over ten seconds i...

Re: How does Audacity use resourses

Since you seem to have a flowers and candy relationship with your RAM, have you ever run the Windows Memory Diagnostic? http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp If you have a heavy memory load and your machine starts to act "funny," it's possible you have a bad strip. I don't accept a machi...

Re: changeing mp3 bpm

Niki, You need to post this question in the right forum. This is where you talk about the forum colors and tools, not music. Please go back to here... http://audacityteam.org/forum/ ...and pick which Audacity you have and Windows or Mac or Linux. They are much better to help you there. Good luck. Koz

Re: Audacity opens only 12-second long pieces

<<<I presume they are segments of my saved file.>>>

Nope. Audacity doesn't save files. It saves Projects; see above. To get a single sound file you can email to your mum, you have to export.

Re: How does Audacity use resourses

<<<I tried to close Audacity, after deleting the unexported music still open in Audacity>>>

How did you do that? Audacity doesn't actually delete anything when it's open and if you tried to manipulate the files in the _DATA folder, you created an unstable program.
