Re: How to Turn Off Effects?

I admit you had me there. I normally deal with I/O. (I/o, i/o, it's off to work we go...) View > History ...will give you a list of what you did. Edit > UNDO ...will back you out of the changes you made to the work. Being a simple editor, I don't believe you can remove the effects out of order. Koz

Re: Dropdown Menu is blank

You should probably go back up to here...

http://audacityteam.org/forum/

...and choose the forum for your version of Audacity and computer type.

This is the forum for discussing forum colors and number of smileys. Do you like the forum blue? How about the font style. Is that OK?

Re: How to Turn Off Effects?

The desperation method (on a Mac) is to trash the Audacity Preferences file and restart Audacity. /Users/koz/Library/Preferences/audacity Preferences Drag that file to the trash. When you restart Audacity, it will be at First Birthday and the system will make a new file. Remember Audacity wakes up i...

Re: Transferring a project from MAC to PC

Usually, it's good to go for the simple explanation (if it walks like a duck...), but sometimes you need to go into exotica. If you open up your Project (AUP) file with the text editor of your choice (TextEdit, VI, Emacs, NotePad) you might find files and folder listed. That's how the AUP file keeps...

Re: How do I create a seamless loop of audio?

As I understand the problem, it's creating a clip that somebody else can loop.

Client side looping has never worked reliably as far as I know. Good to know the technique in 1.3.4.

Re: error message

In Audacity, "Save" will only produce a project, not a stand-alone music file. Projects are "clouds" consisting of supervisory files, effects fragments, capture clips, original sound files, data folders, and the directory structure that holds them all together. If you move anythi...

Re: Exporting to iTunes

<<<To get your files in itunes you need to export as a mp3.>>> That's if you want to take advantage of the lame libraries which people swear sound better than the Apple encoder. I can't tell the difference, myself. Did you have any trouble importing that six second piano trill from further up this t...

Re: How to achieve an effect

<<<im guessing you found it tasteless.>>> If I do, I'll say so. I'm not shy. Yeah, I didn't get that far with the iTunes clip. That's the effect you can get with a keyed processor or multiplier. Also Known As a Vocorder. Depending on which direction you go, you can process your voice to sound like y...

Re: Zooming out without my telling it to

Reaching way back into my memory...I think Audacity 1.2.x just does that. Try installing version 1.3.x. You can have both versions on your machine, but only use one at a time.

Re: Audacity opens only 12-second long pieces

<<<Now that I can open, edit and export>>>

After you export, open the WAV file in Windows Media Player and see if it sounds distorted. You are exporting a WAV file, right?
