Re: Convert stereo to mono in Audacity?

From memory since I can't find it either. Black down arrow on the left > Split Stereo Track. Using the little slider, reduce each track level to -6. Black down arrow > Mono (each track). Select one track, Shift-Select the other one (both selected). Project > Quick Mix. That should give you one singl...

Re: Fundamental Sound Play Issue- Help Requested

That's what Playthrough is supposed to do.

Audacity Preferences > Audio I/O > bottom two clickies.

Mac OS-X sees running the record and playback at the same time as an unstable condition, so I wouldn't be shocked if it didn't work--or didn't work like you want it to.

Re: playback sound distorted and zippy

Your first goal will be to get the song into a format that Audacity understands. The difference between the duration of the song in real life and the one you heard in Audacity is the amount of digital compression applied to it by iTunes. Audacity does that when it has no clue what the audio format i...

Re: speaker/microphone feedback on G-4

Re: Lotsa noise, unpredictable spot, USB turntable

You understand you posted a question clear at the bottom of a three-part stack of postings and dialog. The only people who are going to see it are the couple of us who come down here by accident. I would totally start a new thread with the question and give everybody a shot at it.

Re: Determining Record Levels

They stop your signal from getting louder while it's still analog, before the digital damage point. It's the digital damage point that turns the lights on. You need to figure out where that point is. Grab the lower right point of the Audacity operating window and pull it around in all directions unt...

Re: Sound Problems

Did you mess around inside the Windows Audio Control panels? Time for desperation methods. Can you make it worse? Is there anything you can do to change the distortion at all or make it a lot worse? Dynamite the system. You know that you can launch Audacity and carefully click once inside the red re...

This is the forum to talk about the forum colors. Do you like the...
