Re: I have all of the data but when I click file nothing loa
The AUP file is a plain text document. You can open it up in TextEdit and read it. It's computer information, but sometimes you can get it to tell you where it put stuff. aliasfile='/Users/koz/Desktop/piano2.wav' That's a small portion of an AUP file I have, and even though the AUP file is on an ext...

Re: Lotsa noise, unpredictable spot, USB turntable
<<<I will soon be running 'Parrallels" >>> The people doing this pretty much have all three strikes in one. The system fails in Mac, it fails in Windows, and you can't get anybody to answer your questions because you don't have either a Mac or a PC. The object is to get one of the two running p...

Re: Microphone input to MacBook
This is where the Windows people have the last laugh. Many if not all Windows Laptops have a Mic-In connection and while it's far from perfect, it does work. Macs have only Line-In which is expecting a signal roughly 1000 times louder than the one coming out of the back of a dynamic microphone. You ...

Re: Error message
Can you shut down the machine? Press and hold the power button? If you selected "Save Project As..." and didn't put anything in the box, the system is supposed to prompt you for a location or filename. It will fail to do that if you put punctuation marks in either the foldername or filenam...

Re: No waveform appears in Audacity window
Wait a minute. You make a recording and you don't get a screen that looks like this?
http://kozco.com/audacity/audacityPanel.jpg
Or you get that screen but the blue lines are straight instead of thick and wiggly?

Re: Breaking live recordings into tracks?
Stop where you want a show break. Select Project > Add Label at Selection.
Finish the show and then make sure there's one at the beginning of the first clip. I don't remember if there needs to be one at the end.
File > Export Multiple.

Re: Editing voice recording on the 'fly'
No. The best you can do is pause recording and then pick up exactly where you were.
You can simulate that by letting Audacity create all new tracks and then cutting and pasting them together as appropriate, but it's not real time.

<<<and uses it as a default soundcard for everything, music, systeme sounds, and recording.>>> How do you know it works for recording? Do you have QuickTime Pro? <<<works with M-audio and roland interfaces,>>> Sometimes not. There's a fair about of complaints about those two. Koz

Re: Lame not working with Audacity on MAC
Right then. You should have downloaded Audacity 1.2.6 which is the direct replacement for 1.2.4 which is the one I'm still running and probably shouldn't be. audacity-macosx-ppc-1.2.6.dmg That's the disk image file. You should be able to just click on that to decompress all the operating files. I pe...

Re: Lame not working with Audacity on MAC
If it's gray, you got either the wrong Audacity or the wrong lame library.
It will take me a bit to figure out what happened. OS-X 10.3 is Panther, right?
