Re: locked out randomly
Sudden Unexplained Insanity on a Mac can mean you're running out of hard drive room. If you click on your hard drive icon and press Apple-I (for INFO) what does the panel say? My system drive right this second says jimmyHD Capacity: 74.21 GB Available: 33.83 GB. What are your numbers? Are you runnin...

Re: Import DAT files to Audacity?
<<<I have a DAT deck with optical I/O. My MacBook also has optical I/O.>>>

<<<The blue wave forms are there, but no bouncing lights or sound.>>> That's a little disturbing. Do you get a panel that looks something like this: http://www.kozco.com/audacity/audacityPanel.jpg ...And you don't get bouncing lights? The meters on the right (48, 42, 36, 30...) are the record meters...

Re: Soundwave but no sound
That sounds like a Project violation. You're not playing a WAV file export, are you? You're playing an Audacity Project. Projects are clouds of files all managed by the AUP Project File. Some of the things in that cloud might be original capture files from a lecture or a musical performance. Did som...

Re: Can't get mp3 to play.
What happens if you Export as WAV... instead of MP3? The file is going to be a lot bigger, but it will be the same song and it will be in a classic Windows WAV format. If that fails, then you get to muck about in the Windows Sound Panel and figure out what got turned off. In addition, Windows Media ...
