Re: preserve the envelope?
<<<(Koz: does TotalRecorder handle mutiple timed recording events, like a VCR/PVR?)>>> I've never had to do that to mine, but there is certainly enough scheduling detail to lead me to think it would. I've never understood the programming to get it to "change the channel" since that means s...

Re: Blue Snowball mic
The ArsTechnica web site agrees with you. The microphone suffers from seriously low volume.

The graphic equalizer isn't that hard to deal with. The blue line on the screen is a series of rubber bands and you can click and move the curves up and down and make new ones as needed Here's an illustration of a curve that makes voices a little more harmonious. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/voice...

Re: preserve the envelope?
I wondered about manually changing the coding inside the AUP file. I know you should be able to do that.
I can't help thinking that the poster was looking for a little blue radio button to push that would transfer the envelope.
No button?

<<<Uh, then maybe Audacity shouldn't do it this way?>>>
Maybe you should talk to the programmers like I did. I believe version 1.4.x is a lot better about that than the earlier versions.

Re: Forum search does not work
The search system will drive you nuts. It seems its goal in life is to not find anything. Now we know how Google became so popular so fast. All search systems used to work like this one.
And speaking of Google, you seem to have found the work-around.

Re: audacity won't start up
I'm invoking the 10% solution (with apologies to Arthur). Any video or audio production machine needs to have at least 10% of the system drive free. Magic and strange things start to happen if you violate that rule. If you let your System drive go to 99% you may find that you can't take stuff off an...

Re: Recording problems
<<<time goes on my second track is slightly faster>>> If you have progressive speed changes between record and playback, you do not have the same problem as the beginning of this thread. You probably have a poor or broken sound card. I bet if you try this on a completely different Windows machine, i...

Re: Recording problems
<<<first, for some reason the first track is recorded as well>>> There is a mode on Windows machines where you can record everything going out to the speakers. You can also record individual devices; CD, Line-In, MIDI, etc. If you have output mix and a device selected, you are getting the sound twic...

<<<Now about my other question on the previous post: why am I having trouble sliding several tracks together, so that they keep the same relationship that I've set?>>>
I'll give you the same advice I gave you then.
