Re: Audio recording monitoring sound level problem

I somehow solved the monitor issue a few months ago and got a latency problem instead. You can get that if you started monitoring the computer instead of the soundcard. The computer sound is always going to be "one computer late"—the sound has to go into Audacity and then turn around and ...

Re: can u help - trying to read corruption Zoom h2 MP3

The H2 is a legacy machine. I wonder if the newer machines (H2n) "know" when the system is about to go down and closes the file. The system should be able to figure this out. The declining battery charge is pretty clear—something has to put that message on the screen—and just before the sy...

Re: Recorded at 2x speed. How to slow down and reestablish correct pitch

Effect > Change Speed. If they're both wrong, that's the tool. It gracefully changes the playback speed until you get what you want without too much sound damage.

Did you do this intentionally? By accident? Are you helping out somebody?

Re: 2ND TEST CLIP FOR AUDACITY

When you finish with your mastering, you should have a sound recording that passes ACX Check. The mastered file you posted will not pass ACX Check. Screen Shot 2020-03-01 at 11.26.46.png There are some sounds in 2ND Test that make me think you're recording too softly, or you're too far from the micr...

Re: Clicks and pops in audio file that AREN'T Drop-Outs

Remote storage seems to be a gift from the angels, but digital networks all come with transmission management. Collision Detection, Retry Timing, Routing Delays, etc. All that takes time and all the corrections change constantly. Contrast that with local storage where Audacity needs to record someth...

Re: Best audio for picking out noises

Probably not. If you can't make out the sounds in the original sound track, there isn't much we can do to help. Forum postings that use the words "help me clean up" are usually doomed. This is one of the reasons Audacity can't be used for law enforcement, surveillance or conflict resolutio...

Re: will not 'save project as...'

What are you calling it? You can get very odd conditions if you violate Filename Hygiene. Upper Case Letters, lower case letters, numbers, -dash-, and _underscore_. Those are the only safe characters to use in filenames. The Windows people have an additional list of forbidden words from the DOS era ...

Re: Accidently Played Music over Interviewee, What can I Do?

I was just wondering if there was any way for me to remove the music No. Not if the music and voice are mixed in the same track. You picked one of the non-recoverable errors. Rescue One. Redo the interview. Rescue Two. The Hollywood version of the rescue is write down the words and have an actor re...

Re: TEST CLIP FOR KOZ

noise floor was at -67.0 dB and RMS passed.
After you apply the tools and got all the good readings, export a WAV sound file and post that.

Re: Corrupt WAV file

Are you starting to run out of space on your drive? When Windows deletes something, it doesn't actually delete the whole work. It just deletes the address of where the work is on the drive. The space becomes available for new recording, but Windows doesn't use it immediately. It uses fresh drive spa...
