Did you decompress them from whatever form they were produced for transmission (ZIP or SIT) and then put the actual software into the Plugins folder?

Re: lamelib can't be unstuffed
Actually, you're running an Intel Mac which is the important part. If you know that, then you know to download Audacity 1.2.5 which is in the middle of this page (on my monitor)... http://audacityteam.org/download/mac Then, just so we're all on the same page of the hymnal, tell Mac OS-X to turn on f...

Re: 78 rpm records
Please remember that 78 uses a different size needle than 33-1/3 and 45. If you play a 78 with a Long Play stylus, it bumps along on the bottom of the wider 78 groove and gives you much noisier playback than if you had the proper stylus. This leads to the common idea that 78s are much noisier than 3...

Re: De-essing filters
<<<went directly into the computer via a Griffin iMic.>>> Directly to the computer by way of one of the worst pieces of audio equipment in the world? And connected via USB which Audacity sometimes has trouble managing. If there is an analog Line-In on your computer, even if it's a PC and not a Mac, ...

Re: sound level across multiple files
I feel as if I've known you forever. Can I call you by your first "Yo?" Just to stress the English a little bit. By "Tracks" you mean top to bottom, track two being directly underneath track one. This will not work right if your "Musical Tracks" are side by side on the ...

Re: No Control Over Input Volume?
An ION USB Cassette machine. They weren't doing enough damage with the turntables. If you search the forum for ION Turntables, you will find billions of postings from people having troubles with them. Is there an analog Line-Out connection on the tape machine? If you have a deskside PC, you can go d...

Re: Can't Seem to Change Recording Levels - Vinyl
You have a deskside computer, right, not a laptop? That's important. I'll put chocolate on you putting the cable in the wrong hole on the sound card. You must hit Line-In, and not any of the others. If you hit the Mic-In hole by accident you will get uncontrolled garbage instead of a musical perform...
Re: File Size
<<<without affecting quality?>>> No. Almost all audio compressors are destructive. They work by damaging the audio in ways that take up less space. There are some tricks, tho. Mono shows automatically take up half the space. Convert stereo to mono. If you were on a Mac, I'd say use Mac AAC format in...

Re: Easiest way of mass conversion to mp3?
<<<I'm looking to convert lots of .aup files to .mp3.>>> Just to be clear, you're not converting AUP files. You're converting Projects. Audacity Projects are clouds of different files all told what to do by the supervisory AUP file. You can open up an AUP file with WordPad and read it. It's in compu...
