Re: transferring files from mac to PC
<<<is it possible to work on audacity between PC and mac?>>> I'm going with no, or certainly not easily. What happens if you open up one of your Mac WAV files on your PC Audacity? I wasn't clear on exactly what fails from your question. That particular job I do all day long between three different p...

Re: Audacity crashed on long recording, how to remake wavefo
This version of Audacity doesn't have very good recovery tools. In your case, Audacity crashed before it could create the AUP file to manage all those thousands of capture clips. Nobody has ever convinced me that you can go in later and put the show back together, but there is a link inside that lin...

Re: Vinyl to CD - RIAA equalization
Phono Pramps are matched to the phono cartridge. The good ones, anyway. 47 K-Ohms input impedance with some number of picofarads shunt capacitance, etc. etc. If you plug a turntable into anything else, the RIAA curve will not be accurately subtracted from the music. Everybody laughed when I told the...

Re: Recording more than one track
There is an instruction book for every version, but I've never figured out how to download it. The instruction book creation is one of the reasons that version 1.4.x is being held up. Start here: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Audacity_Wiki_Home_Page There is a section in there about m...

<<<drop into audacity>>> Literally drag and drop, or Open, or Import? <<<3 seconds it flips from the right to the left channel of my headphones.>>> Do the blue waveforms on the timeline follow the sound direction? Do the bouncing green playback lights in the sound meter follow, too? Koz

Re: 1.33 crashes when stop is pressed
The Audacitys have issues with 24 bit sound. So far I've been able to talk everybody out of using 24 bit sound since 16 bit sound is far better than anything you're likely to connect to it. I do master live voice captures at 48000 16 bit and have far more problems with room noise and microphone hiss...

Re: Can I record my Alesis Micron?
The 1/4" Ring Tip Sleeve connections on the back of the Presonus should accept line-in with no trouble. From the way I read it, each 1/4" is one sound channel. That means out of two, you get one left and one right. <<<Micron.>>> Micron what? Micron makes everything from video monitors to l...

Re: Advice and Questions about Podcast Setup
Does your laptop have a Line-In in addition to the Mic-In connection? If it does I would be going directly from the mixer to the Line-In and eliminate the iMic. If you do need to have the iMic in service and start to have quality of sound or noise issues, that's the first place to look.

Re: Tracks Stop After 5 seconds? Help!
You can't move Projects. Can you put it all back the way it was? That may be the only way out of this. When Audacity captures or saves a Project, it creates a cloud of different files that make up your show and then creates an AUP Project file to keep track of everything. If you moved the AUP file, ...
