Re: splitting continuous mixing into tracks

Audacity has a thing called Labels. You can post a label marker anywhere by pressing Control-B when you want a label. I think you can put words in there, too. They are not, however, edit points and as far as I know, you can't "Go To Label." They're just reminders like a pink sticky note. Koz

Re: MAJOR crackling/static when using line-in

Since this is the Windows forum, we can assume, unless contradicted, that the connection on your laptop is microphone level, not line level. The pickup on your guitar qualifies as microphone level because the signal is as much as a vibrating steel wire next to a magnet inside the pickup can make--no...

Re: I open a file and get only a tiny bit of it

<<<Just zips right through the file.>>> It zips right through the foreign compressed file it doesn't understand, right. That's what it does. You need to convert the file into either straight Windows WAV or MP3 with an outside program before Audacity will open it. I think it will do Ogg-Vorbis, too. ...

Re: 1.2.6 Cursor Stuck!!

Before you get all joyful jumping up and downey, it crashed for a reason. Go into Audacity preferences Directories and see where it's set to put all its housekeeping files. That drive should be thoroughly defragged and have a lot of room on it. No production hard drive should ever drop below 10% of ...

Re: Issue with Audacity 1.26 and Mac OSX 10.5 Leopard

<<<Is there any plan to get this bug resolved?>>>

Not in 1.2, no. The Audacity team is going crazy to bring out 1.4.

Re: cannot record from minidisc

Leave Audacity set to "Default" and go into...

Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound

And reset it there. The Apple audio meter should pulse if you play the minidisk.

Re: Amplify on Audacity

You people seem to be talking in magic terms because the pictures and your text don't match. May I suggest changing the display from percentages such as this... http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/AudacityPanelStandard.jpg ...to actual dB, so all the tools match, like this... http://kozco.com/tech/audaci...

Re: Lamebib-carbon not found by computer after download

Yup. I took it all the way through to installing and running it. The SIT file opens with Stuffit-Expander.app and extracts the LameLib file which imports into Audacity perfectly.

Re: Lamebib-carbon not found by computer after download

News Flash. I'm retracing my steps and one of the filetypes is wrong.

LameLib-Carbon-3.91.sit

I think that's the latest version. I'm going to see if I can take the process to completion just like you would have to.

"Looks like I picked a bad time to give up sniffing airplane glue." Lloyd Bridges "Airplane" 1980 This is a little to surreal even for me, so I stopped running and paid attention. You're complaining about a problem with Audacity 1.2.6, but you posted in the 1.3 forum. So half my ...
