Re: When will be an official 1.3.4 beta for Leopard ?
Audacity, as you can tell by the price, is an all-volunteer effort. There is no "they." The "fun part" is actually programming the code, the drudge and scutt work is writing all the instructions, FAQs, and help pages. That's the step they're on now. If you're a good technical wri...
Re: HELP!
If you try to open up a song that's in a form that Audacity doesn't understand, Audacity will play the song really fast. You need to convert the song to WAV or MP3 in an outside program and then bring it into Audacity for editing.

Re: Why is the sound cutting out?
This almost always happens when somebody deletes some sound files or tries to move files around after starting a project. It always happens to the neat-compulsive people. An Audacity project isn't a "thing." It's a cloud of files that together make up a performance all coordinated by the A...

Re: Recording Line-in Too Hot
Are you bet-your-butt sure you're using the Line-In of your laptop? Many Windows Laptops have one input connector and it's Mic-In, not Line-In. That can be a 1000 to 1 mismatch in sound level. The clue is "I have the adjustments all the way down and it's still overloading." Given that's OK...

Re: Lame mp3 saves empty files? MAC os leopard...
We haven't really nailed down what causes this, but there is one possibility. First, before you do anything else, Export As WAV... and make a high quality safety copy of your project. Audacity Projects are brittle and if you start having export problems, you could flush your show down the toilet. Af...

Re: BPM reading of a live recording?
<<<I don't think its impossible, I just think it hasn't been done before>>> Or you just haven't found it yet, and if you do find it, it's going to turn out to only run in Windows XP. It's one of the burdens we Mac folk have to bear. http://www.bluechillies.com/details/45050.html Koz

Re: Amplifying
You can get that if you're recording battery or DC level instead of audio or if there's anything wrong with your sound card. Set up for a normal recording. Turn the mic on and plug everything in. Turn the speakers off. Launch Audacity and click on the black down arrow under the red record meters. Se...

Re: Creating Recording from 1,105 *_data files
Then you pretty much have a 55 minute show. There's no such thing as stringing all the additional AU files back together into a new show. The AUP file is created as the supervisory file to keep track of everything. If it can't do that and you don't know enough computer XML programming to write a new...

Re: 'Audacity' for NLE Video Editing?
<<<What is everyone using?>>> A Mac. iLife comes free with many Mac installs and it includes Garage Band which can be a very nice audio capture and editor and iMovie which unless I'm mistaken will easily edit HiDef video now in addition to standard videos. It burns DVDs, too. I don't know of any equ...
