Re: Changing a male voice to sound like a female

The fuzzy rule is that you get three notes. You can pitch change a keyboard note about three notes up or down before it starts sounding weird. This is the basis of smaller keyboards with restricted memory. Same with voices. That pitch corrector machine that lets everyone hit proper notes in a studio...

Re: Noise Reduction Profile

Groove sound "flat" versus properly RIAA corrected. http://www.kozco.com/tech/riaa/riaademo.mp3 Oh, and this process has been standardized for thousands of years--for 33-1/3 and 45s, but not for 78s. Back yonder, everybody had their own process for keeping bass notes from waddling outside ...

Re: Volume Gets Lower While Recording

<<<segment from a tape player>>> Do you have an iPod or any Personal MP3 Music Player? Music CD player or portable computer with iTunes or other music service? Set your tape player aside for a minute and connect anything else to the Line-In of your computer. You may need one of these if your music p...

I've been through the instruction for this microphone and they fail to address several important issues. This microphone has a three pin XLR Male connector on the cable right? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XLR How are you plugging this into your computer? Unless you went through extraordinary expensi...

Re: Removing tracks

<<<After a file has been saved>>> Just to be properly compulsive and keep you out of trouble, you did not save a file. You saved an Audacity Project which is a cloud of different files that make up your show. Because it's not a single sound file (yet), you can go back in later and change it all arou...

Re: Noise Reduction Profile

What he said. The needle or stylus is intended to be suspended between the two v-shaped walls of the groove. If the needle is too narrow, it falls down to the bottom of the groove and picks up all the dirt and groove noise down there. Try as I might, I can't find a picture of groove modulation. Oh, ...

Re: basic recording setup for acoustic guitar?

Missed a step. The Mic-In of your computer is fundamentally different from the Line-In. Line-In is stereo and Mic-In is mono and the connectors may look the same, but they're not. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audioconnectors/audioconnectors.html All this is in addition to the Line signal being 1000 tim...

Re: basic recording setup for acoustic guitar?

<<<Shure mic>>> So it has three gold male pins like this, right? http://www.answers.com/topic/xlr-connector?cat=technology The Correct way to do this is amplify the microphone signal in a microphone mixer or preamplifier to a much higher level. The high level signal is then applied to the Line-In of...
