Re: Reverb when recording DVD
You need to mess with the sound control panels. That reverb is Audacity recording the performance twice, once directly from the DVD playback, and then once again from the Mix Out, or WAV Out, or something like that. There is a small processing delay between those two and that's what you're hearing. ...

Re: Advice for recording vocals for music tracks
I keep looking for the word "live" as in live music tracks. You don't have access to the original performance, do you? I'm going to tell you that recording a live performance is a lot more difficult that it looks and it's the one single thing you can control to make Post Production rescues...

Re: Recognize noise in a waveform.
OK, so the first problem is our assumption that your "noise" is the standard clicks and pops that everybody complains about. You, on the other hand, want a vinyl recording to stop sounding like a vinyl recording. First the 78/33-1/3 thing. 78 recordings have very wide grooves. 33-1/3 recor...

Re: Just got USB turntable, can't find USB Audio CODEC
He's saying there are no options because no options exist. Did you try to play a record and press record? Don't worry about not being able to hear it. That's a different problem. Do you get the bouncing red lights? You can also launch Audacity and click once inside the red record meters and they wil...

My New Dell Inspiron with patented Vista Technology?
Vista closed off a lot of those way too handy shortcuts. If there's no other way to do it, see if Total Recorder is available for Vista. Let's see what the Windows people have to say.

Re: how to transfer video audio to audacity
I bought a license for Total Recorder when I got tired of messing around with the Windows Sound Panels--usually unsuccessfully. There may be other Windows tools that will allow you to do that, but it's intentionally made difficult because of copyright issues. Depending on your versions of Windows, y...

Re: Can You Record In The Same Track Twice?
You're going to have to throw a few more English words. Record the same live track twice? I believe there are settings that will allow you to play the first track into headphones while you're singing the second.

Usually that happens when you forget to put a marker in front of the first song.

Re: Very unexpected waveforms with Realtek/Creative SB
You can tell if your speakers are wired correctly with an audio test I made. http://www.kozco.com/tech/soundtests.html Download and play the "Left-Right" test. The last segment is what happens when the left and the right do not match. Proper design in audio equipment is for the signal to b...
