Re: save or convert aup to mp3
<<<libmp3lame.dylib>>> That seems to be the one you're supposed to have. I have had troubles not downloading, but uncompressing the zip file into the working files. I would probably trash the download file and the .dylib file and go up and get it again fresh. Do you have an Audacity folder in /Appli...

Re: save or convert aup to mp3
<<<I have downloaded the encoder, and done all the right stuff)>>> Probably not. This always happens when people get the wrong lame library file. What kind of machine are you using? Mac OS-X Tiger will run on both Intel and Motorola Macs. I'm typing this on a PowerBook G4 and my lame library file is...

Re: Jerky cursor makes editing difficult
How big is the show and how much memory/hard drive do you have? I'm not right next to my Intel machine right this second, so I can't try it out. This brings up an editing conflict that I don't think anybody's fixed yet. By the time you zoom into the waveforms to see exactly where the edit point has ...

Re: LADSPA plug-ins always crash my Audacity
There is a VTS Enabler plugin, but that's for VST tools, not LADSPA. http://audacityteam.org/help/faq?s=install&item=vst-enabler Did you get all your plugins from the same place? Audacity 1.2 is not the most modern software package for this kind of thing. Try downloading and running Audacity 1.3...

Re: MBOX MAC OS 10.4?????
Do you have QuickTime Pro? That can be helpful in times like this. Open up Apple > System Preferences > Hardware > Sound > Input There is a bouncing light sound meter in the middle of that panel. Do the lights bounce when you play music with your MBox? If not, then Audacity is dead because it can on...

Re: rerecording old sound over new tracks
This happens when Audacity is set to record from the Mix-Out or What-You-Hear instead of just the Line-In or Mic-In. Doing voiceovers on a Windows machine is very entertaining. http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Mixer_Toolbar_Issues#Using_the_Control_Panel See if anything in there helps. Koz

Re: No sound when I use Audacity V1.26 with USB and cd decks
<<<I mean is the Line in next to where you put the headphones.>>> That's going the wrong direction. That's to take music from an iPod or something like that. You want a Line-Out connection. There is almost no detailed information on this mixer, so I can't point you to a particular connector. The ad ...
Re: Recording
Vista? Vista closed off a lot of the handy tools, like recording Mix-Out.
If you're on XP, then you may have the sound control panels set wrong.

Re: No sound when I use Audacity V1.26 with USB and cd decks
I know what a Numark CDMIX3 is, but what is a "USB Capture?" The Numark has an analog Line-Out. Is there any way you can adapt that directly to your computer? Does your computer have a "Line-In?" That may get you going while we figure out what's happening with the USB...thing. Hu...

Re: Editing for a Background Sound
<<<I have a video file with loud music on it and a few people talking very softly in the background.>>> You're dead. This is the time-honored, easy way to mask a conversation that you don't want anybody else to hear. You would have had a chance if the foreground noise was constant, if loud, like an ...
