Re: Recording Audio from Streamed Radio
You're not going to find a "Record Streaming Audio" setting. You need to go into the Windows Control Panels and find the hidden "Mix Out" or something like that. I'm going by third hand info. You go to the Windows sound record section and find that it's missing one or two setting...

Re: Clicking in the recording.
<<<simple recording with my laptop>>> What does that mean? Describe the wires and connections. The microphone input on most Windows machines is terrible, the line input less so. You can even get into trouble with USB services if the USB device gets its power from the computer. If that five volt serv...

Re: Mixer Setup for 4 Channels from PreSonus 1394 interface?
I would probably stick with 16 bit, 48000 as the maximum quality for a while. Audacity Mac has problems with 24-bit sound. You could also use the 32-bit floating standard, but you may run into interchange problems with that. 16-48 distortion, overload, and noise are stunningly better than anything y...

Re: Distortion while using Audacity 1.2.5
There is a bad interaction between the computer/OS, the turntable/USB, and Audacity. Nobody's ever figured out why.
Many similar turntables do this.
Go analog.

Does it happen in Audacity 1.3? You can put both Audacities on the same machine, but not run them at once.

Re: Intel 10.5.2- should I upgrade? Should a novice?
Oh yes. That is an old problem. Most people phrase it, "When I save something in audacity, the keystrokes start activating Audacity shortcuts."
That does happen in Leopard.
Let me see if I can figure out what the solution is.
