Re: How Do You Make A Mono Recording Into Stereo?

Just because I answered a similar question a short time ago, you're not going to get "Stereo." You're going to get two-track mono--that is, exactly the same thing on both left and right. The poster that I answered was expecting that he could push a button and suddenly, the performance woul...

Re: I cannot get a waveform to appear.

Just to be clear what happened. Does your program still look something like this, just the blue waveforms are straight lines? Does it do that if you open up an old show, or is it just doing this while trying to capture a new show?

Re: Recording Blocked

The Tube MP is a full-on microphone preamp and should be plugged into the Line-In of your sound card, not the Mic-In. If it's not labeled in English, It's the fan icon with the arrow pointing in rather than out.

Re: Recording won't Work

<<<I just downloaded version 1.13 beta twice>>> Maybe 1.3 Beta? I don't think there is a 1.13. If you save the DMG or ZIP file, you don't have to do it multiple times. It's really rare for a download to fail. You don't happen to remember what the message was (for those of us who don't run 1.3)...? E...

Re: Adding Intro

Put the cursor in the performance somewhere.

[Home] > Generate > Silence... > 5 > Generate Silence

That's the Home key on the keyboard.

<<<I rarely make long duration recordings, but on the few occasions that I do, I open Audacity, then save the (empty) project. Re: new computor

I would be opening up Windows' own software and see if that does the same thing. Windows Sound Recorder Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment If it does, then you may have a bad sound module or hardware in your new machine. It sounds just like a broken audio amplifier. Alternately, it co...

Re: Uh Oh - Project Inconsistencies - May Have Lost Recordin

<<<"safe and recommended" option of deleting orphaned files?>>> I don't think it makes any difference what you do. Crash Recovery in Audacity 1.2 was a wish list for a future program, not a functioning set of tools. So. Linux Audacity didn't crash but created a bad project on a stable mach...

This picture is what happens when you separate the meterbar from the work window, change the timeline to dB from Percent, and pull the window very tall. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/AudacityPanelFull.jpg Note that the sharp points on the blue waveform approach zero (guage on the left) and the far ...

Re: Uh Oh - Project Inconsistencies - May Have Lost Recordin

The Linux machine is the record machine and you move the project to the Windows machine for editing. This has worked correctly in the past. In this instance, the project had significant damage whether you moved it or not. Did I get that? The linux machine gave you no notice that there was something ...
