Re: Recording Problem With Audacity 1.2.6
Audacity does two or three things to make this difficult. Go into Audacity Preferences and set the number of channels to 2 (stereo). Audacity wants to be 1 (mono) when it wakes up. Audacity also defaults to 44100, 32-bit floating digital format. Change that to 44100, 16-bit. Audacity does not "...

Re: LAME (again)
You have one of the combinations wrong. "LameLib" is the file that Audacity 1.2.4 and 1.2.6 look for.
Help > About Audacity.
Just because it works doesn't mean you have the right Audacity. The "wrong" Audacity works on Intel machines.

Re: LAME MP3 decoder
A reading from the notes last time I did this: ====================================== If you're on a new Intel Mac like I am, download the libmp3lame-osx-universal-3.97.zip file and put it on your desktop. Open With BOMArchiveHelper.app (built into OS-X) and that should give you a new folder called ...

<<<"help, I've used 300 GB of disk space and I've only recorded 3 albums".>>> As opposed to the people who save their multi-thousand dollar project and go home only to come back the next day and discover they have no show because the UNDO vanished. I take option A. Audacity is way too tale...

Re: long audacity file saved as repeating loop - why?
Did you do some editing or special effects to the first fifteen seconds of the performance? That would have placed the performance segment in the _DATA folder and made it separate from everything else so it survived. As far as the looping five seconds goes, goodness knows. The AUP file is the one re...

<<<(1.noise reduction>>>
Both Cool Edit and Audacity require a two-step process for successful noise reduction; Sniff-Apply. That process alone can't be one-button.
