Subtract a Feature..or Two
We know from casual inspection of the chaos it causes that Audacity will sometimes open up and run under the wrong operating system. Yes, it does. Trust me on this. That should never, ever happen. A cousin of that problem is Audacity should never, ever open a sound format it doesn't completely under...

Re: Cannot export, but no special characters in labels
<<<I'm not sure I like the sound of that.>>> Good pun. Can I use that? <<<By the way, what do you mean by "a damaged main show"?>>> It's irrelevant because my 6 second "show" failed, too. Audacity doesn't know how to manage many audio formats, but it always tries anyway. I gotta ...

Re: Recording with Multiple USB Mics
<<<I would post it here instead of making a brand new post in the PC section.>>> Fair enough. I'm tri-lingual. <<<M-Audio Delta 44>>> That device will mix four high-level (Line-Level) analog signals and push them down one digital signal pathway, and yes, Audacity will probably get along with that OK...

Re: Cannot export, but no special characters in labels
Will the project save or save-as just as it is? Save it, restart Audacity, and open up something plain like this little 6 second piano piece "Piano Trill." http://www.kozco.com/tech/soundtests.html Does that export OK with no labels? Park some labels in there and try to export that. If all...

Re: is splitting mp3 into parts lossy?
Audacity recognizes MP3 and manages MP3, but it doesn't edit MP3. It converts everything into an internal format and it's the conversion (twice, thankyouverymuch) that causes the damage--or the increased damage. There are editors that will do very simple editing without the conversion step(s), but A...

Re: Differing Recording Quality
There was another posting here about oddball Audacity behavior and after a bunch of questions, they admitted that they were running a number of other audio programs and they were all stepping on each others preferences. Audacity is a bit of a loaner. If you look at your whole production process inst...

<<<Is it possible to automatically export .. short sequences of .. audio.
Yes. Put a label at the beginning of each clip you want to export--Apple-B. Then File > Export Multiple.
