<<<the connection in the computer beside the usb connections!>>> Use a lot of words. Connection in the laptop computer beside the usb connection? Can you tell which connection that was? Does it say Mic-In anywhere or have the symbol of a microphone? http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://imag...

Re: How to use the Wah effect from audacity on other program
It may not be a classic plugin. I believe all the effects above the dotted line are built into the program. All the ones below that line are movable add-ons.

Which computer do you have? If you have a newer Mac, this is a $6 trip to Radio Shack. If you have a PC--especially a laptop, it's a lot harder.

Re: "Error Opening Sound Device...
I have a few observations. I had that happen to me while I was running a perfectly stable and well behaved Audacity on a normal Mac Mini. No oddball programs or other crashing. I found that the number of sound channels listed in the preferences had changed to four. Reset to two (stereo) and all the ...

<<<a few I've recorded myself>>> There, in one phrase, you have just separated yourself from the rest of the thread. Audacity wakes up from First Birthday in Mono. You are always supposed to change the settings to stereo for most work. We hope the program fathers change that in the next version. How...

Re: Problems editing wav files
You left out the movie scene before the ones in your post. "I got up this morning and turned on my USB turntable like I always do...." Did I hit it? My bet is you are capturing damaged sound files and because Audacity will try its best to deal with the damage--usually by hiding it--the dam...

Re: Volume level changes while recording
Real time noise suppression. Who would have guessed that?
I wonder what they're trying to do.........
Is the show more or less normal as long as you're at regular volume, but instead of getting quieter during an expressive part of the performance, it gets really quiet, or vanishes?

Re: Certain Keys fail to work in Labels
This worked once, so it became an instant Old Wive's Tale.
Go into the keyboard shortcuts and deselect the letter key in question. Restart Audacity. That key should return to normal and then I think you can even put that key back in the shortcuts if you want.
