Re: Burning standard CDs
Authoring a Music CD is a relatively straight forward process and you can do it in a number of different programs. A simple authoring program actually comes along with several pieces of hardware if you're building or modifying your own computer. It's only if you want to get fancy that you need a mor...

Re: Beginning is gone on my tracks!!
<<<I recorded some songs>>> And then you missed an important step. Did you Export a WAV file, or Save a Project? Audacity doesn't save sound files and Projects are easily damaged. Did you clean up, organize or delete any extra files after capturing your music? Then that's where the fragments of song...

<<<is there a way that person can find out>>>
No. The hardest part is getting the birthday CDs back in the shrink wrap before the party.

Re: Left and Right Channels Same in Stereo
As a servicing aid, you can launch Audacity and click once inside the red record meters and they will wake up and measure your incoming sound without you going into full record. It will do that forever, so then you start the business of disconnecting the Left Performance from the Berringer and see w...

Re: 3.5mm mic's into mixer output to pc?
That 10uF capacitor needs to be rated for at least the battery voltage--9V in this case. I would put a 15 volt capacitor in there. Also the (+) symbol on the capacitor needs to go toward the microphone, not the connector. Being a compulsive engineer, I've been known to simulate the 5 volts normally ...

Re: All the options for....
<<<I was looking for something under $100.>>> <<<Or would that just be crap?>>> It may not meet your expectations...... ........It would be crap. It's not easy to make a microphone amplifier. What suffers on most low end amplifiers (OK, MicPre because it's easier to type) is noise. Constant frying i...

<<<If you feel that a certain posting isn’t worth the effort, ignore it.>>> I don't think that would be a very good idea. That would create a second class of user and we have no second class users. The last time I had to stand in line at the California Department of Motor Vehicles (Abandon Hope All ...

Re: Improving CD 44.1kHz/16bit audio
<<<It did say in my reading that the Nyquist frequency was double of the highest audible frequency.>>> That's widely assumed, yes, but there needs to be Certain Tricks to get that to work. Clearly if you have a sine wave and x2 sampling and the samples end up in the gutters of the wave, there will b...

Re: Vinyl to CD New Problem
<<<Audacity 1.2.2>>> Are you sure about that? That is a very early version of Audacity. The versions before about 1.2.4 could have stability problems and should probably be avoided. Can you go get 1.2.6? That is a stable release. Did you get that Audacity with your USB turntable? USB Turntable--Symp...
