AU files? Are you messing around inside your _data directory? If you removed anything from the _data directory, then Audacity will not be able to play the song associated with whatever you moved. If you put those chunks and segments back in the right place, then Audacity will stop giving you that er...

Note nobody is trying to use the Noise Removal Tool.
Noise Removal only works with noise that doesn't change over the duration of the show.

No, but you can move the wave back down where it's supposed to be. This is an audio show with DC or battery voltage mixed in. It makes editing a complete nightmare, but it's easily removed. In Audacity 1.2, Effect > Normalize > Remove DC. The offset is typically put there by a bad audio card. There ...

Another possibility. Did you close restart Audacity after you changed the settings from Mono to Stereo? Some Audacity preferences don't "stick" until you do that.
