Re: Can't Get Set Up
Audacity > Preferences > Audio I/O > Recording > Hardware Playthrough or Software Playthrough. This process is what gets all those Windows® people in trouble, so Macs make it difficult to open up that pathway. However, just to brighten your day, are you sure you have the right Audacity? My new Intel...

Re: Selection Save in 1.3.5
You know you can have 1.2 and 1.3 on your machine at the same time as long as you don't run them at the same time.

Re: All Roads Lead to Mono
<<<It used to do this by default>>> I think I got it now. No. Audacity at first birthday always wakes up in Mono. It's one of our complaints to the programmers. Actual Music hasn't defaulted to mono for over 50 years. Something > Preferences > Audio I/O > Recording > Channels > 2(Stereo) > OK And th...

Re: Left and Right Channels Same in Stereo
Both of those programs are something of a slave to the Sound System in the computer. Once you straighten that out, everything will be sweetness and light.

<<<I just need a proper way to join these files..>>>
I believe you. When you get a working pipeline, please post back. There are a lot of people who want to know how you did it.

Try not to double post. It leads to all sorts of confusion.

Re: recorded sound (.au) playback dies off
<<<these are a bunch of .au files which I joined together after Audacity crashed>>>
Sorry. I didn't read carefully enough.
Nobody has ever been able to recover a crashed Audacity show. If you manage to put everything back together again, you will be number one.

Re: recorded sound (.au) playback dies off
AU files aren't sound files. They're clips and segments part of a much larger Audacity Project. Put all those AU files back in the _data folder where you found them and open up the AUP (project manager) file. If you got everything back where it's supposed to be, the whole show should be there. Expor...

Re: Windows Vista Problem (surprise surprise)
Everybody has seen this message before and there is no magic bullet to solve it. Even I, the compulsive, careful engineer got that once. My problem turned out to be Audacity got it in its craw to change the default number of sound channels from 2 (Stereo) to four. Change it back, restart Audacity an...

At the risk of throwing mud in the game, Is this still available...
Windows Sound Recorder
Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment
It would be interesting to find out if that records in "All Left" two-track, as well.
