<<<I cut and paste the file to my K:// drive (western storage book) >>>
We warn people that you can't easily copy or move Audacity projects. That AUP thing isn't a sound file. Export As WAV and back up the WAV file to your external drives.

Re: Sharing Audacity files online
<<<I've got a website of my own, underused,>>> That's totally how I do it. kozco.com has a public face and some fluffy stuff here and there, but a lot of the real heavy lifting happens behind the scenes when I need to push something to a bunch of different people on different time zones. I push fold...

Re: Recording from two microphones concurrently
That's fascinating. I think it uses the USB connection for power and nothing else. There's nothing so hidden as an instruction book that wants to hide something. It has many varieties of analog output and I think those may be the only outputs. No digital. Nothing in the instructions suggests pan pot...

Re: Recording from two microphones concurrently
<<<Just out of curiosity, why do you keep mentioning $100?>>> Probably because somebody else on the forum is asking almost these exact same questions using almost the same English words. It's a popular question. Their budget is $100. That's also pretty popular, if unrealistic. The Phrase That Pays i...

Re: Recording from two microphones concurrently
The Mac will not let you select two of anything. If you select Line-In--Audio Line In Port it will give you the left and right channels of that one connector. That said, you need to bring two microphones up to Line Level (high) from microphone Level (low) before you plug them in. Hence the mixing de...

Re: two .aup files will not load
<<<and changing the filename of one file.>>>
There are specific file and folder names burned into the AUP file (did you open that one up and look at it?). Audacity will blindly follow those instructions. If you change anything, the Project turns to dust.

<<<The USB Turntable that we bought... (from the first message)>>> <<<entire system hung requiring a power/reset... (from the current post)>>> Happy Birthday. I know you're bottom feeding ("My budget is $100 for everything") but I've used one of these for field recording... http://www.sounddevices.com/products/mx2master.htm Before you gasp at the price, just know that this thing is completely battery operated, has internal headphone amplifiers a...
Re: Stereo
A regular Audacity install should look sorta like this... http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/Audacity1_record.jpg ..but it depends on the size of your screen. Grab the lower right corner of the Audacity work window and push it around. The sound meters change size when you do that. You can also float the...

Re: Does't recognize block (.au) files
<<<how can I tell Audacity where the correct block files are, and what their names are? And how do I figure out the correct order of the files?>>>
I got nothing.
Maybe one of the other helpers will post.
