Re: How do I clean up a taped telephone conversation
Excuse the delay. I'm packing for a trip. Listen to... http://www.kozco.com/audacity/Prosecast_corrected.wav ...and hear the middle segment which has that buzzy, hissy edge removed with an equalization filter. Turn it up or listen with good headphones. This is the code for the equalizer I used... ht...

Re: some .ny plugins not showing up
<<</audacity.cfg>>> Must be the newer version of Audacity. Mine is a different filename. Ignoring the plugins for a minute, did Audacity go back to first birthday? You did restart Audacity after that, right? Audacity does not have perfect support for everybody's plugins. They warn you that some work...

Re: ION USB turntables (and clones)
<<<it worked very well, and the owner of this device has successfully transferred over a hundred records onto his computer with no problems.>>> Oh, this so reminds me of a problem on the Final Cut video forums. We've had stability problems with FireWire hard drives for years. Invariably, someone wil...

Re: Equipment to record a meeting
I record a meeting each week (up to 80 people) using two microphones, a simple analog mixer, and Audacity on a Mac PowerBook. You are using a Mac, right? You can go a very, very long way to equipment simplicity by holding your meetings in a very, very quiet, echo free room. If you do that, two micro...

Re: Custom Equalization
You can have 1.2 and 1.3 on your machine at the same time, just don't try to open them both at once.

Re: Custom Equalization
Oh, yeah. Anything fancy will have to be in 1.3.x. The 1.2 tools are pretty basic--and in some cases unworkable.

Sure. Trash Mac Audacity Preferences /SystemDrive/Users/koz/Library/Preferences/audacity Preferences Early Audacity Windows Preferences were burned into the Registry. Abandon Hope Ye Who Enter... Remember if you do this, Audacity will revert back to First Birthday. You'll need to reset the cache dri...

Re: unable to record with delta 1010LT
Sometimes when you stump the band, we send you off to the Windows Sound Recorder to see how that works. Windows Sound Recorder Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment I predict that the WSR isn't going to work, either. Audacity depends on the straightforward setup of the Windows sound pane...
Re: Lame mp3
<<<Winrar charges 29.00...do I have to pay that to get Lame?>>> No. "lame" is a open source, multiple format converter. The released version of it is free to whoever wants it--or to modify it as you wish. There's nothing preventing somebody from "packaging" it and selling it as a...

Re: How do I clean up a taped telephone conversation
Fascinating. How are you separating your voice from the phone call? Inquiring readers want to know. That's really difficult to do and still make it sound like a live performance. I played back the piece enough to know stuff. Who made the air conditioner behind you in the introduction? That's a Trane...
