Re: Equipment to record a meeting
They're just different. There's a spirited discussion about how to get the posters to tell us the computer they have before they get to the problem. We were on the fourth message before we could narrow the conversation down to be useful. Don't lose the commandment that thou shalt record in a quiet r...

Re: Ion turntable: Buh-BYE!
And you're putting a preamp in there somewhere, right? Or are you going to go with the software solution? I don't entirely trust the software preamplifiers. To take the RIAA curve out of vinyl music it is required to boost the low frequencies some 20 dB. It needs to dip the highs, too, but the probl...

Re: Can I Back Up Files/Data to a DVD?
One quick note. You can universally make Music CDs with your WAV files if you recorded them 44100/16-bit, or 48000/16-bit. Fewer CD burning programs know what 44100/32-bit floating is, and that's what Audacity defaults to.

Re: Can I Back Up Files/Data to a DVD?
You can put your WAV files anywhere you want. They are really stand-alone sound files. You can email one to your sister is Schenectady if you want and it would play when it got there. The other files are not so lucky. As you may know, Audacity Projects are audio production environments, not sound fi...

Re: Tascam-428
The only thing I was able to find was that it's old and had terrible support when it was new. Quite a number of people had trouble getting it to work because of drivers and technical support problems. Audacity doesn't support anything. It depends on the computer internal sound support (drivers, libr...

No. And not in 1.3 or 1.4 (not out yet).
Trust me. We asked.
Go down to Requested Features and post so your vote counts. I would not mention any other sound program.
