Normalize Destructive Behavior ??
Mac OS-X 10.4.11 Intel Mac Mini. Very stable. Both 1.2.5 and 1.3.5 installed, only 1.3.5 running. I ran into this when I was answering the noise reduction question. I tried to normalize the show to -3 to make it a little louder before I posted it for inspection. It didn't work right, so I threw in t...

<<<VinylWriter USB Recordable Turntable>>>
Words that have been struggling to pass my lips: what happened when you called them? Audacity seems to be doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
What happens if you put a record on, turn the turntable on and press Play?

Re: noise reduction sampling crashes audacity 1.3.5
http://www.kozco.com/audacity/15_sec_snoring_file_Corrected.wav I didn't spend a lot of time on it and I only corrected the middle third, not the two ends. That was Audacity 1.3.5, but it was on an Intel Mac OS-X 10.4.11. I was able to achieve corrections in both 1.2.5 and 1.3.5 with no odd machine...

Please don't double post. That creates all kinds of problems.

Re: Stereo Mix not an option
<<<bt my recently purchased Dell laptop>>> Yes, but not when you bought it, but when was it designed? Does it have start of the art, cutting edge technology? A big hard drive doesn't count. I bought a Mac laptop just before they went off the market. It was new to me. The Windows folks are also strug...

Re: Stereo Mix not an option
<<<I have a similar problem.>>> You probably don't. Stereo Mix in this case is the computer's ability to see its own output. It has nothing to do with Stereo exporting, so with an eye to keeping this thread from getting complicated beyond all reason, can you please start an new question? Thanx, Koz

Re: Slightly mushy audio
Because of where you posted, we know absolutely nothing about your system of what you're trying to do. Fill in the holes. If I was going to duplicate your system exactly in Los Angeles, what would I need?

Re: Uploading Audacity File to Web site
<<<How do I place the file on my site?>>> It's usually in two steps. Assuming you have a web site or server or hosting company, they will usually have a simple package for placing stuff up there. If not, it's pretty simple to do. If you're a heavy techie, you can open a terminal on almost any comput...

Re: HELP! the needle doesn't want to stay on the record
My sister's turntable does that, but it does it at the end of the record, when it's done playing. Do you still have the instructions for your turntable? Is it your turntable and when was the last time you used it? There are turntable systems out there that will not play a record unless you let them ...

Re: HELP! No matter what I do, I can't record streaming audi
It is my opinion you should be running the 1.2.5 version of Audacity on your Intel Mac (which one, by the way?). If you're running 1.2.6 (a common mistake) then a lot of tools and services will not work, although Audacity itself will seem to be just fine. The About panel for Audacity will be either ...
