If they don't, I would probably think about running Audacity 1.2.5 which is the Intel version of the program. 1.2.6 is the PowerPC version.
You can get instabilities if you run the wrong one.

Could not be restarted as in you couldn't close and restart Audacity? OS-X? The Capture?

Re: macbook wont run audacity 1.2.6.
Doesn't surprise me. Intel Macs take Audacity 1.2.5, not 1.2.6.
Your PPC iMac should be perfectly happy with 1.2.6.

Re: Removing Pop From 8-Track Tape Recording
You have to find it. I don't know any software that will find it for you. My 8-Tracks would never switch in the middle of a song, so there should be no competition on both sides of the pop except for the tape noise. I do this in the most painful way possible, by progressively zooming in. Somtimes th...

Re: sound file not "centred" at zero
Someone produced a sound track with substantial DC or battery voltage mixed in with the performance. This is sometimes caused by a broken sound card or audio digitizer. You can get rid of it with the DC portion of the Normalize tool. Yes, this problem will cause normal edits and filters to produce d...

Re: Record without Microphone???
Headsets with microphones frequently come with two 1/8" plugs, one with an earphone symbol and the other with a microphone symbol. The laptop--assuming it's a Windows machine--should have two sockets labeled the same way. Those headsets don't work with Macs. Any names or numbers on the headset?...

Re: How to go from data file to audio file?
Audacity data files aren't real audio files. Open the original project up in Audacity and Export As WAV. That's a real audio file and that should burn just fine.

Re: How can I achieve the Hammond Organ Sound?
I think MediaFire is a little to aggressive for my taste. If I turn JavaScript on (normally off) my screen fills up with pages of commercials. Worse, the system downloads a Java Application that I'm supposed to click on to hear the music.
How about no.
Any way I can just get the MP3?
