I was able to access the on-line help system, but there may not be a downloadable one any more.

Re: Mac 10.4.11 File Path for toolbar help button
You can search for the path. The filename is audacity-1.2-help.htb. Version 1.3 isn't nearly so helpful. Try substituting 1.3 in the filename.

Re: USB mic
I don't have a Snowball®, but I did write down how I got my USB microphone to work. USB Microphone http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/USB_Microphone.html You know Macs intentionally shut down the speakers and headphones when you record to keep howling and rumble problems from getting into the show. Let'...

Re: Signal is cutted at -0,6 dB
Does windows Sound Recorder work?
Windows Sound Recorder
Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment
You have an odd problem in that at least one of the Windows® helpers is on holiday in Europe. He would be on vacation, but they don't have vacations in Europe.

Re: Signal is cutted at -0,6 dB
<<<Of what avail is it?>>> None. I'm merely correcting an incorrect definition of the problem which, on occasion can lead to incorrect diagnosis. 0.6dB can be normal for your sound card. One of the other helpers' sound card routinely clips at some fractional dB value. I'm sure mine does, too, but I'...

Re: Audacity Reboots my computer
No shortage of people upgrading their Windows drivers to death. Can you go back to the old drivers? Listening to what you're doing is a clicky in Audacity Preferences and it's a juggling act in the Windows Sound Panels for Cool Edit.

Re: macbook wont run audacity 1.2.6.
Audacity is a pretty simple program and takes simple machines running simple software. It doe not Play Well With Others. How many different audio programs do you have on your machine? SoundFlower and WireTap? Vonage? Audacity hates Vonage. A slightly more exotic problem is putting the capture buffer...

Re: Noise removal
The problem we had with the original noise reduction wasn't that it didn't work. It worked too well and you couldn't stop it. Natural, graceful noise reduction usually happened with the control just the slightest bit up from off. If you hand shook a little, it would be wrong. Made us all crazy. The ...
