<<<Is the only work around right now to go into Preferences and get rid of the keyboard shortcuts?>>
No, the cure seems to be to get rid of your corrupted Preference file which clears everything. See previous message.

Re: USB sound
If you plug a USB sound device into your Windows® machine and Windows Supports it and the drivers are happy, then yes, Audacity will work fine. By USB Device, I mean like a simple analog sound to USB adapter, or a small USB mixer with multiple analog inputs or maybe outputs. What did you mean? These...

Re: Problem With Recording Echo
Preferences > Audi I/O > Playthrough Juggle with those settings until you find one you like. Hardware Playthrough should give you the least delay, but not all system support it. Do you get your voice twice, or once late? When you strike you microphone once with a pencil, do you get two clicks? This ...

Re: using 4 track cassette recorders

Re: Stereo in my MIC jack?
You do have to pay attention to the sound levels, too. When you put line level or headphone level into that connection, some computers flat-top, distort or sound crunchy on loud peaks. The operators find that they can't "turn it down" because they're overloading the sensitive electronics b...

Re: how to convert audacity
<<<MP3 converter for audacity files?>>> I don't understand the question and you may not either. Audacity has an option where you add a free software package to it and it will Export As MP3 with the best of them. Export As WAV is the other option. The difference is WAV produces a perfect but large so...

Re: can someone explain latency and how to compensate for it
The analog world doesn't have latency. If you put audio into the biggest audio mixing console ever made, it would come out the other end essentially at the same time it went in. All tools are in real time except the ones specifically designed to make the audio late. This is what allowed Les Paul to ...
