Re: Removing Pop From 8-Track Tape Recording
It's only three times per tape. It's not like trying to dig cat hair sounds out of the only known recording of Verdi. Plus, once you know where the first pop is, you know where the other two are. There's only one tape in there and each segment has to be the same length. You might actually have to [g...

Re: Sustaining Voices
You stumped the band there for a while. Have you tried any of the echo effects? Pick a small but very live room setup. If you pick a large room, the effect will last longer, but you'll start getting slap in the sound and that may sound funny. Experiment.

Re: 100% cpu usage
So if I trash my old 1.3.5 Unicode Mac Intel and pull it down again, I'll get the corrections? I have a 1.3.5 on a PowerPC machine, too.
Or are we talking the exclusive 1.3.6 alpha-something version?

Re: Recording from two USB mics with a mixer
You appear to be at the "Grown Up" sound system front door. What Will Kill You (by G. Kozikowski) --You can't extend a USB microphone. There's no such thing as adding extension cables to a USB microphone to get it out the the back of the audience. You'll start to get data errors or it will...

Re: Failure to record on Windows
Nobody is racing to your rescue because troubleshooting this on a Windows machine is a pain in the neck. Somewhere in the lower third of the tool stripe you may see a small microphone symbol, a volume slider, and an input selector window. Make sure the volume control is up and the thing selected in ...

Re: New look to Audacity.
Great way to get a whole new look. However, did you notice that in conventional Audacity, the display is dynamic? I see the small sound meters in your presentation. Normally those meters would have expanded to cover the available space making them much easier to see. Also very magic things happen if...

Re: So I FINALLY found a "stereo mix" fix for Vista
Good to know. We've been going with the idea that you couldn't do it at all in Vista.
The down side is you still can't do it with the stock Vista. This solution will be beyond some of our "How do I select audio" users.

Re: Periodic record glitches
<<<Would Audacity benefit from a PIF file to launch it?>>> Audacity would benefit from unplugging the USB cable and leaving it off. Once these turntables start generating garbage, it's all over. This was written for a Mac, but the idea is there. If you have a PC Laptop, chances are you don't have a ...
