Re: Removing Stray Noises and Spectrogram Wave Form

I think you're stuck.

That's not regular microphone distortion. Is that a radio mic? A lavalier and hip pack?

Either the transmitter or the receiver could be off-channel so loud volume goes out of band. Hip pack batteries going flat?

How did you get that sound?

Re: One thing fixed, another is not

Different posting. You should start a new post instead of piggy-backing on an older post. It can be a little rough keeping track of who is talking to whom and when. The Audiobook Mastering Suite is a collection of tools you have to use in order. If you do that, RMS and Peak will come out perfect and...

Re: One thing fixed, another is not

You should check with ACX before you submit a test to them. As of a relatively short time ago, they greatly changed the steps for a test. For one example, instead of the old two or three minutes of voice performance, it's up to fifteen minutes now.

Re: Latency correction not working

There is a relatively easy trick to set this if you're goal is to record a live microphone in overdubbing. Record the headphones. Make a click track be the backing track. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/GTrackEarBuds.jpg https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/superLatencyBefore.jpg https://...

Re: Latency correction not working

If the correction entry is in milliseconds, then the correction should be 461. The illustration is 0.461 Seconds. That 461 milliseconds.

Re: Line In recording humming/ buzzing

The connection back there is blue, right, Line In, not pink? Is the cable pushed all the way in? Pull it out, rub the metal parts briefly with a touch of glass leaner and a clean rag, dry it and push it all the way in. How did you get from the 1/4" plug on the player to the 1/8" on the com...

Re: Only Static when I import an MP3 file

Screen Shot 2020-03-18 at 21.32.45.png It's not an MP3 or WAV, so Audacity has no idea what to do with it. You can add the FFMpeg software to Audacity and the work should open. https://www.audacityteam.org/download/ Pick your installer and scroll down for additional software. Fair warning that when...

getting better each time. Because I haven't been Suzy Sunshine for at least ten minutes, that's actually a problem. The first and last chapters of the book have to match. It's not unusual for New Users to get to the last chapter as a seasoned professional and go back to the first chapter (which the...

Re: podcast edit

Audacity will not Time Shift fractions of tracks. So if you want to cut into and out of an interview, it will need to be distributed on separate whole tracks like this. Screen Shot 2020-03-18 at 10.28.32.png One is the interviewer. Two and three are segments of the same person. Keep adding tracks fr...

Re: No sound when I play recordings

It's good to write a goal in there somewhere. ... I have used Audacity to record and edit my podcast .... The goal can sometimes tell us lots about what you're doing and sometimes what the solution is. From the pictures Audacity seems to be set up right. When was the last time you did a clean shutdo...
