Did you have troubles finding your preferences file or are the keyboard shortcuts messing up your filenames and saving your show?

Re: Need Help :)
<<<drum and bass enhanced version of a song on audacity>>> You want to change the drums on a song that's already a finished musical performance? That's rough because anything you do is going to affect the whole performance, not just the drums and bass. If you have a separate drum track, then there's...

Listen to the Left-Right sound test.
That was produced with a microphone sitting on my bed. The bedroom has heavy carpeting and "cottage cheese" ceiling.
It can be done without going nuts.

Re: real time wah-wah pedal control
The first responder comment is that Audacity doesn't do anything in real time. As close as it gets is allowing you to record a voice track while you play back the rhythm track. The programmers had to lie down for a while with a cold towel on their heads--and even then it doesn't always work. Posting...

Re: anyway to level out 2 different audios (urgent)
This is generally caused by one of the computers (or both) having a bad sound card--read: Or Cheap. People get this when they record a rhythm track and then play that while they sing. Then they play the composite, it's out of sync. What. Yes, the record and playback parts of a cheap sound card may b...

Re: Error Opening Sound Device
This is one of the killer problems, especially Audacity 1.2 and especially under Windows. That combination saves its preferences and settings in The Dreaded Windows Registry. If something goes wrong, you need to be a programmer to fix it. Ever run Microsoft RegEdit from the DOS Command Line? Don't. ...

Re: How to turn data files into audacity files?
<<<short of pasting together all the tiny .au's and .auf's?!>>> You can't do that, either. Depending on what you were doing when Audacity went toes up, the files may be scrambled and out of order. You don't get a ding in your dinghy, you get a pile of shards, fragments, and debris. In the rest of th...

<<<"The purple cow is flying over my head what do I do?">>> Don't look up. Are you wearing your purple shirt? <<<misleading.>>> Many people do this. There was the poster who wanted instructions how to manipulate a voice track so as to change its timber and pitch. What he neglected to tell ...

Re: can i change the bit rate when exporting an MP3 file
If you're in 1.3, it's... File > Export > MP3 > Format (MP3) > Options > Quality. You can set whatever bitrate the program can reach. It's much more difficult in 1.2, but you can do it there, too, in Preferences. Unicode is one of the standard collections of letters and words that computer programs ...
