Re: Left channel only

I see you are missing the phrase "This has always worked before." It's never worked right, has it? Unplug the RCAs from the sound device but leave the cable plugged into the computer. Launch Audacity (either one) and click once inside the red record meters. They will wake up and monitor th...

Re: Audacity crashs on WAVs created with Adobe Premiere Elem

<<<It could be that there is a problem relating to 32bit wav files>>>

What?

QuickTime INFO claims that file is 16 bit integer Little Endian, Stereo, 48000. Audacity also claims 48K 16 bit.

Re: Recording Vent/TS Using Vista

Yes. That's perfectly true. I believe Vonage has a custom software package that allows you to record both sides. Consult your communications provider.

Re: Need help with Audacity and SoundFlower

I don't have the whole thing, but here are the pieces. If you installed SoundFlower successfully, it should be one of the sound devices in... Apple > Preferences > Hardware > Sound ...Input or Output. This is where it gets fuzzy and I didn't entirely understand the install myself. Pick SoundFlower f...

Re: Audacity crashs on WAVs created with Adobe Premiere Elem

<<<even if there is something wrong with file, a crash is not an appropriate response.>>> We don't think so, either. That's why most of the time, it doesn't. <<<other players have no trouble with these WAV files>>> They're video standard files, but so are most of mine. 48000, 16-bit. Yours play perf...

Re: Importing is not working

Wait here, I'll see if I can find one. I found one cowering behind the rain barrel. Hi, Audacity will not import--or open most compressed audio formats properly. They just play really fast and you can't do anything to stop it. You need to convert to something Audacity understands like Microsoft WAV ...

Mute or silence the unneeded tracks and export the whole composite?

Re: MP3 Voice files> effects (which plugins?)

The vocoder effect might work OK. Search for that plugin. That's the one that forces a human voice to sound like a guitar or other instrument. Because of the way it works, you may have to select two different audio tracks. I've never used the digital version of the effect. You're stuck the the Ameri...
