Re: WAV file time-compressed on import
You may be far better off with Change Speed rather than Change Tempo. Change Speed just drags its finger on the record a little but leaves everything else alone. Both Change Pitch and Change Tempo have to rip the sound to pieces and try to smash it back together again. They have much higher chance o...

Re: I can’t eliminate the background “white” noise, not even with the “most silent” microphone ever
I got the interface connected to my laptop by usb. Which interface? Do you know where the laptop microphone is? Mine is just left of the left-hand shift key. While you're recording a test, scratch the Rode and then scratch the laptop microphone. Which one is louder? https://www.kozco.com/tech/audac...

Re: Small "pop" and gap between appended tracks
Missed a step. You can use the Time Shift Tool (two sideways black arrows) to push the bottom track to the left and make it meet the top track.

Re: A button "delete local file" (on each track/row)
Those are two very different things. We can take it out of the show, but do you want the original sound file to go away, never to be seen again?to delete the local file (and close the row).

Re: Having trouble removing high pitch screech
That's pretty badly banged up. Do you have a sample before you did anything to it? I assume the original recording didn't sound like a bad cellphone call.

Re: Small "pop" and gap between appended tracks
That's almost certainly due to the MP3 structure. MP3 doesn't have pure, clean stop and start points. That and every time you export MP3 masters from MP3 songs, the sound quality gets worse. That's why we recommend never do production in MP3. You should be able to zoom into the gaps and edit them ou...

Re: Audacity won't let export the file as a wav or a mp3
It says file not found. It can say that if you put slashmarks in the filename. The computer thinks those are instructions to put your file into a specific folder or location. If the folder or location doesn't exist, it throws that error. You may think that today is 3/21/20, but to a computer that m...

Re: Audacity won't let export the file as a wav or a mp3
What he said. There's usually an error message like "I can't do that because....." What did you call the file? You should use good filename hygiene. No punctuation marks except -dash- and _underscore_. If you need dates, use the ISO version. Today is 2020-03-21. Do Not use slash marks anyw...

Re: Equalizing Audio on Interview Video
Have as many parts of the show in separate tracks as possible. As you may be finding out, Audacity can't split a mixed performance into individual voices for editing. Correcting a badly matched, mixed sound track can be a career move. Keep everything on separate tracks including music if any, and Au...
