Re: USB Turntable - No Bass
All that. Bass notes do not fit in a phonograph record, so they are reduced in volume before the record is pressed. One of the original jobs of the RIAA was to publish the best standard way to do this. This became the "RIAA Curve." So if you play a record "flat" with no correctio...

<<<I have a mac pro with Komplett Live external sound.>>>
So you disconnected all that and uninstalled the drivers and what happened? 1.3 started running?
Audacity is a very simple sound program and it sometimes objects to running in a system it doesn't entirely understand.

Re: A Second Take on some audio
That's called clipping for producing waveforms that look like somebody took scissors to the top and bottom. It's actually overload and it could have been either analog (plugging a sound mixer wrong into a PC laptop) or digital (mismanagement of audio gain tools). This is the buildup to me saying the...

Re: Need help
WMV is the format for a Windows Media compressed movie. Not a sound file. I don't think Audacity is going to help you very much.

Describe your machine and how you have it connected. There must be a thousand different ways to do this and they all have different problems. Do you have a lap top? Which Windows? Pretend you're on the phone trying to talk your sister in Schenectady through wiring up hers the same way as yours. Koz

Re: Recorded tracks FADE OUT automatically
I went back to the Systems Office on the ground floor and found a Vista machine. We keep them locked up down there against anyone trying to actually use one. Windows Sound Recorder is in the same place it was on earlier versions. Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder. I thi...

Re: After save, aup files contains incorrect filename for da
Apparently I missed ranting about this. After a live capture, Export As WAV to get one single, stable, high quality sound file of the show. Audacity Save does not produce a sound file. It produces an Editing Production Environment (Project) with multiple, sometimes thousands of files. Projects are b...

Re: HELP! Any beta ver crashes on launch but 1.25 works fine
So you're complaining that the unstable version of Audacity is unstable? Just wondering. There are some very entertaining problems with 1.3.6, but I think I'm running 1.3.5 on my Intel machine (although under Tiger, not Leopard) and everything seems to be OK. It tries to write to the kernel............

There are three packages that do tricks like this. Center Pan Remover is available for free from the downloadable tools. Sometimes you can get the tools to do both isolate and remove. Center Pan Remover (Voice Remover--Search the page for "Center Pan Remover") http://audacityteam.org/downl...
