Audacity is a very simple sound program and it sometimes objects to running in a system it doesn't entirely understand.

WMV is the format for a Windows Media compressed movie. Not a sound file. I don't think Audacity is going to help you very much.

Describe your machine and how you have it connected. There must be a thousand different ways to do this and they all have different problems. Do you have a lap top? Which Windows?
