Done. I posted it here against the idea that there was a way to do it through the forum.

Re: Problems Sound Recording with Vista Via Line-In
I think something very like that can be caused by a bad sound card. Sound capture and playback are supposed to be performed at the same sample rate, but they don't have to be. If there is something wrong with the capture timebase (44100 or 48000) the sound clip may be produced with a non-standard sa...

That may do it for you. Heaviest is too much. Somewhere between Heavy and Heavier should simulate that "Robust AM Sound."

Re: Compression of MP3s to achieve "that radio station sound
Audacity 1.3 has equalizer presets for "AM Radio." I don't know that I exactly agree with the curve because it's not a transmitter curve, It's a receiver curve assuming you're listening on a transistor radio. AM radio transmission actually does much better than that, but there it is. The r...

Re: CAN'T OPEN SAVE PROJECT
He/She is correct. However, don't click on the AUP file. Open Audacity first and File > Open > the AUP file. I don't know why it makes a difference--it shouldn't--but it does. Audacity doesn't "Save" sound files. To get one single sound file of your whole show, Export As WAV, and do it bef...

Re: Stops recording every few seconds
One has DMA enabled and one doesn't? Direct Memory Access is a clicky on my older machines. Without DMA, some real time processes just will not run no matter how much memory you have or the speed of the hard drive. Sometimes it just a matter of putting the drives on DMA. I was doing video on my 733 ...

<<<How can I get around this?>>> New Stylus? Scrub your records? Audacity doesn't do anything in real time, so no, it can't apply an equalizer filter during capture or playthrough. It's perfectly happy to capture your vinyl and apply filters in post production. <<<I hear a quiet sound coming out of ...
