Re: Converting vinyls to CD
There are machines that can go from vinyl straight to CD. I know nothing about them other than several people having trouble with their USB Turntable (a very naughty word here) claiming they were going to try them.

Re: Shortcuts with ALT on Mac
<<<so you have two alternative shortcuts>>>
Now you'll have to wait until after work to confirm, but I believe I get the same reaction no matter which shortcut I use.''
Which was the first version where you could make "Waveform (dB)" stick in a preference?

Re: static noise..
I read it twice and I can't quite get what your setup is.

Re: mbox - mac 10.4 - sound/no sound coming in
You mean the sound level meter in Apple System Preferences, right? This is a pretty classic case of bad or dirty USB connection. It's less possible that the MBox itself is failing. If you shuffle across the rug in your house and then touch a USB connection it can fry the electronics inside--or much ...

Re: Automatic noise reduction when recording?
Multiple Problems. The first recording, the "live, bright one," is overloading whatever is being used to record it. The recording has extremely high overall gain and volume boost and tries to reduce the volume on the fly when the performer talks. In broadcasting, this is called "pumpi...

<<<Can I just hook a stereo adapter to my headphone jack (out) and to my PC input to get a stereo signal? >>> Sure. The Mac people do that all the time. You can do that with a large DeskSide PC, too, or any computer with a good USB audio interface. You can't do it with most PC Laptops. Dig in the in...

Re: Recording from turntable to 1.3.5
There is no shortage of people having trouble with USB turntables, mostly fatal troubles. If you found a way that works at all, you win.

Re: Export to ascii
Somebody asked for something like this earlier. You need to find the WAV file format specification and use a debugger program and maybe Pearl Script to rip apart the file and scoop out the numbers. I know of no such program. It would be quite a spreadsheet, wouldn't it? One second of CD Quality audi...
