Re: How do i delete unwanted sound?

Do you have a sound cue? Click on the sound cue on the timeline and drag left, to the beginning of the piece. That portion of the timeline will get dark. Press Delete. If you mess up, Edit > UNDO is your friend. You can also use the select and Zoom tools to get really tight into the timeline and see...

Re: Chains. My Baby's Got Me Locked Up In...

Well, that's half the job, isn't it? The other half is Chain Capture. Start the recorder and it will record keystrokes until you press stop.......like it does in Photoshop File > Automate > Batch. It's painful to watch while it's working, but the idea is you can go to the beach while it's doing it. ...

Re: headphones

Let's see. Windows....

Edit > Preferences > Audio I/O > All those little option buttons on the bottom. There are many of them because some of them cause echoes on some machines. YMMV.

Re: How do i delete unwanted sound?

You don't have an MP3 file. You have a highly compressed Something Else. If you tell your Windows to show you file extensions, it will probably turn out you have AAC, MP4 or one of the other audio formats. Sometimes right-click > Properties will tell you that, too. Convert the file with Switch, Supe...

Re: splitting 1 recording into seperate tracks, then extract

I would not be doing production in MP3. Each time you go into and out of MP3-land, the sound gets a little more damaged. Then there's the problem you have where managing a compressed file format can be troubling. Uncompressed WAV format is good. Audacity has to uncompress whatever you do to edit it ...

Re: Bug in .aiff export

<<<There was someone on OS X 10.5 a few weeks ago who said he could not find any AIFF files after multiple exporting>>> It just didn't work. The Execute button wouldn't click. I started life with my 6 second Piano Trill and put a bunch of markers in it with Apple-B. File > Export Multiple > 16 bit A...

Re: Gentlest way to squeeze a CD?

<<<I was hoping there was some way to squeeze the WAV files>>> Music CDs are uncompressed--always. No matter what you do to the music ahead of time, the Music CD authoring software will always blow it back out to the same size. Try it. Take the same song and export three MP3 versions, each smaller t...

Re: Lightsnake Audio cord

You're on a Windows machine, right? Windows has a setting (sometimes called Mix-Out) where it tries to record the whole world in addition to your show. You should probably turn that off. Re: can't even play the file on my audacity

You're incomplete. Complete newbies can't find the forum. Audacity has no idea what a Windows Media Audio sound file is. Audacity will try to open it up and play it using very plain assumptions. WMA files are anything but plain. They are very highly processed and compressed, so you get that screachi...
