Re: Shortcuts with ALT on Mac
After the keystroke posting above, I'm in the group that expects to shift keys between the platforms. I don't expect CONTROL-C to copy anything on the Macs.

Re: Shortcuts with ALT on Mac
And back to experimental 1.3.7 for a second. I loaded my short piano thing and tried to select a single note (G below middle C) to prove a point to someone. I couldn't do it. After seemingly possessed behavior, I saw that the click and drag selector only worked in even seconds. It would snap to the ...

Re: Recording from inside the computer and Audacity
Oh. One more. In earlier sound card hardware versions, there was a "20 dB Boost" software switch somewhere--usually in the Record Panel. That one switch is the difference between getting good volume with your microphone and not. We bought a series of sound cards at work whose drivers didn'...

The audio pathways are still there in Vista, but they're a lot harder to find. Re: All Export files corrupt.
Here it is. http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp This turned up a bad power supply on one of my machines--after several hours of scanning. Microsoft will also scan your machine for common viruses if you let it. That's recommended because some of the newer vigorous viruses make it a point to turn ...

Change the project rate with the little button at lower left. The next time you Export a sound file, the music will be at the new rate.
You understand it won't sound any better. Once subsampling damage has been burned in, it's permanent.

On the PC, I think Super and Switch will both convert like that. If you're going to convert, go up to WAV format and edit there. WAV is an uncompressed format.

Re: Can I burn CD's with Audacity?
Windows Media is the Desperation Method. I use Easy CD Creator on one machine and Veritas Record Now on the other. iTunes for Windows (free) may do it, too. You should be capturing and editing in top quality WAV format. The generally accepted settings are 44100, 16-bit, Stereo WAV. Let the CD Author...
