<<<the program seems to freeze up while it does some kind of disk housekeeping for a couple more minutes.>>>
Possible hardware problem. Can we assume you're on a PC, you've never defragged your hard drive and it's over 90% full?

Re: can't burn to cd
One more trick. Pull down either of these short WAV files and see if they work.

Re: can't burn to cd
Make sure your Audacity Preferences are set for 44100, 16-bit, stereo. Open up the music file and export it again. WAV files don't get damaged when you do that and it might clear up your problem. Make sure all the information to the left of the timeline is what you expect.

Re: Incorrect Song Length
Where did the song come from? Are you the musical performer? Unless you personally made the MP3 file, it may not be MP3. People assume all compressed sound files are MP3, and that's not true by a long way. I don't think Windows Media will tell you stuff, but if you download the free Apple QuickTime ...

Re: can't burn to cd
Is your music WAV file in 44100, 16-bit Stereo? Audacity wakes up from First Birthday in 44100, 32-Floating, Stereo, and some programs have no idea what that is.

Re: LAME MP3 NOT WORKING ON MY MAC HELP!
Getting there. Why 1.3.2? That's kind of an older version. I think the last stable release was 1.3.5. I have that on multiple machines and it seems to work OK. Nothing like the problems 1.3.6 and 1.3.7 have. Anyway. I personally make an Audacity folder, pile all the programs and files into it and dr...

<<<"there is no default application specified to open the document "libmp3lame.dylib.">>> It doesn't open. It's not a program. It's a Dynamic Library--dylib. In Windows this would be a DLL, Dynamic Link Library. Audacity consults with these libraries to figure out how to make an MP3 f...

Re: Sample Rate Help
It should be possible to change the project sample rate with the little button in the lower left. If you Export a WAV file after you do that, the new file should be at the new sample rate and undamaged--except for the mud you make by reducing the sample rate too far. 22050Hz will not carry good fide...
