Re: Recording from inside the computer and Audacity

Windows will have no idea what to do without the RealTech drivers. Windows will treat your card like a plain stereo SoundBlaster card without all the fancy extra channels and services.

Did you get a driver disk when you installed the card? Maybe you can get the extra software via download.

It's still there, but Microsoft makes it more and more difficult to find it.

Re: Electric Guitar Recording Sounds Muddy

<<<I don't if there are other software programmes the allow the ability to remove pause between tracks>>> The two-second hole between songs is a Red Book Recommendation, not a law. Symphonies routinely mark movements right in the middle of a violin note. You will note that management of things like ...

I'm fascinated you don't hear it until you export. I can clearly see significant damage in the waveform during the "P" sounds. You need to work with me here, does it happen if you Export As WAV? The hollow sound is phase cancellation between the two microphones. When the Zoom gives you the...

Re: DX Reverb Light install issues

<<<What am I doing wrong?>>>

Maybe nothing. Audacity does not have perfect support for all plugins, and sometimes it's not Audacity's fault. Some software is messy or oddly formed and doesn't conform to the standard to which it was written.

Re: Pops and Clicks

That should be more than enough to for a good recording. I record hours every week on a 733 MHz machine. Not, however, if the drive is highly fragmented or close to being full. Do you know how to defragment your hard drive? If you click on the drive and Explore it, it will tell you how full it is. Koz

Re: My Audacity won't open.

You may have a really badly damaged Audacity and that's why it's stuck. Go into Windows Add-Remove Programs and see if it will let you remove the program. Then download a fresh install and start over. Audacity 1.3 and up keeps operating preferences in an audacity.cfg file. Audacity 1.2 kept that inf...

Re: Distortion in Windows Media Player after making edits in

Wait, are you complaining about the popping and thumping "P" sounds? The performer was too close to the microphone. You can make that problem go away with a pop and blast filter between the lips and the microphone... http://www.musiciansfriend.com/navigation?q=pop+filter&st= You can mi...
