I bet you're asking yourself if the standard for music CDs is 44100, why use 48000? I don't use anything else. That's the television sound standard. I've never met a CD burner program that couldn't handle it directly--even some of the older PC programs.

In Audacity 1.2 it's a master class in editing. In Audacity 1.3, it's a key click or two. Edit > Select > All. Tracks > Stereo To Mono. You can install both Audacities on your machine. Just don't use both at once. You might like the "Left-Right" sound track I recorded... http://www.kozco.c...
