With a cellphone and good cell coverage, you could record a show at the beach.
I don't have a sound sample, but I did try it and it does work.

That's the cheapest I can think of short of sitting a cellphone in the middle of the table and recording the laptop microphone. That's the desperation method and it does work. I use three Zooms for everything. As above Control-F to zoom out F ull. Drag-select a portion of the track and zoom into it with Control-E . S E lection, get it? Keep dragging and zooming that way until you get zoomed in enough. If you miss it and zoom in too much, Zoom out a little bit with Control...
