Re: "Unable to open target file for writing"

Have you tried Verify Disk and Repair Permissions in Applications > Utilities > Disk Utilities? If you have an older machine, you may need to restart the machine on your install CD (Put the CD in and hold "C" during startup and release it when the Apple appears). Then go into the utilities...

Re: Testers needed - Considering "fix" for CTRL and CMD fias

<<<After the nightly build tonight>>>

Re: Input Volume Control Not Working

If it's worked in the past, close Audacity and restart the machine. You can get the Windows Sound Services and Audacity out of step and they stop talking to each other.

Re: No sound and corrupted files!

<<<I recorded lots of vinyl AU files on Audacity>>> I can take that part. AU files aren't sound files. They're part of an Audacity Project. Projects aren't sound files, either. To get a single, stand-alone sound file, Export rather than Save. Carefully open up each saved show and Export As WAV. <<<S...

<<<When I import MP3s from my hard drive, >>> It failed because you didn't import MP3s from your hard drive. Audacity knows how to manage MP3 files, so these sound files were really Something Else. Audacity will probably never open them without conversion, so we recommend "Switch" or "...

Re: Exporting aiff files

Are you Exporting Multiple from the original turntable capture project? What happens if you clear all the labels and Export As WAV, load the single stand-alone WAV file, chop it up again and try the Export Multiple? This wouldn't be the first time a USB turntable has created an unstable capture. USB...

While the song is on your desktop, open it in QuickTime Player and press Apple-I to get an INFO panel. What does that say?

<<<ALESIS SR-16>>>

That has two stereo outputs. How do you have it connected to your computer? Through a mixer? Sound Card Line-In?

<<<My problem now is that when I went to record a new track and tried playing it back on my computer with Audacity the track wasn't there.>>> Were the red record meters jumping during the recording? If you don't get those, you have no sound. Just so we understand, You plugged everything together, la...
