Re: How do I turn a .wav file into an Audacity project file?
I can feel the storm clouds. <<<Audacity project file>>> You are creating an Audacity Project [Full Stop]. An Audacity Project is a Production Management Environment that can contain hundreds or thousands of individual files, only some of them sound files. You can't email a Project to anyone or move...

Forgive me for editing your post. I couldn't read the solid block of text. <<<I have tried manipulating and equalizing these tracks thru Audacity in post production>>> No, we need to figure out what you're doing to get this effect. <<<Will I have to purchase a USB turntable>>> No, no, no, no, no, no...

Re: Should I install audacity will it mix songs?

Re: How to record/talk in the mic and stream sounds on SKYPE
Probably the place that will kill you first about that setup is that anything that says "Microphone" on it is about a thousand times lower in volume than anything that says "Line Level" or "Headphone Level." That's why it sounded like overloading garbage when you cross ...

Re: Exporting error
What's the original file? Were you performing in front of a microphone? Was this a live capture? Launch the music file in QuickTime Player (before you edit it) and Apple-I to get the INFO panel. What does it say? Audacity, particularly the early 1.2 only recognizes a few simple formats. If you open ...
Re: Lenco
The USB connection on many turntables causes problems. You have a Mac, so you can easily use the analog output of the turntable and the analog input of the Mac. See in the turntable instructions how to deliver Line-Level sound. Connect that to the iMac Line-In which is the small circle with two blac...

OK, so assuming the "focus" problem is licked, I'll go on to the explosion problem.
I wonder how many security triggers we hit so far with those words.

Re: Cutting the Drum Track??
Strike one is the song being an MP3. MP3 compression tends to blur the ability of production tools. Strike two and three are if the song is in mono. All the separation and isolation tools work in stereo only. You might be able to get the Center Pan Removal tools to do this. Frequently, when the sing...
